How to Play

Goal

Eliminate all enemy kings.

You win when your king is the last king standing.

Protect your king at all costs.

Turn Basics

WorldStacks is turn based.

At the start of your turn:

  • You earn coins
  • Your income is calculated
  • You can move and build

When finished:

  • End your turn to continue

The King

Your king is your most important unit.

  • Can move 1 hex per turn
  • Can move only once per turn
  • Has no attack power
  • Destroyed by a single enemy block

Losing your king means losing the game.

Use your king to expand territory early.

Coins & Income

You earn coins at the start of your turn.

Income depends on:

  • Controlled hexes
  • Houses
  • Mountains
  • Block maintenance cost

Each block placed reduces income by 1 coin per turn.

Your coins and next-turn income are shown in the bottom menu.

Blocks

Blocks are used to expand and conquer territory.

  • Place blocks to capture hexes
  • Blocks can be stacked
  • Taller stacks are stronger
  • Taller stacks move further

To destroy an enemy stack, your stack must be taller.

Moving into neutral or enemy territory:

  • Converts the hex
  • Consumes the moving block

Stacking

Stacking increases power and mobility.

  • Taller stacks are harder to destroy
  • Taller stacks move further
  • Taller stacks improve visibility
  • Blocks can protect your king
  • Blocks can empower towers

Height matters.

Houses

Houses increase coin generation.

  • Generates 5 coins per turn

Cost scaling:

  • First house costs 5 coins
  • Each additional house costs +5 coins

Towers

Towers provide defense.

  • Protect the tower hex
  • Protect adjacent owned hexes

Tower cost:

  • Base cost 5 coins
  • Each stacked tower costs +5 coins

Taller towers are harder to destroy.

Mountains

Mountains are high-value territory.

  • Requires 6 blocks to capture
  • Generates 10 coins per turn

Mountains provide a major economic advantage.

Trees

Trees grow naturally across the map during the game.

Each turn:

  • Trees have a random chance to generate a sapling
  • A sapling becomes a fully grown tree after one full turn cycle

Cutting Down Trees

Cutting cost depends on territory:

Sapling

  • 1 block on your territory
  • 2 blocks on enemy or neutral territory

Fully Grown Tree

  • 2 blocks on your territory
  • 3 blocks on enemy or neutral territory

Economic Impact

If trees grow inside your territory:

  • A sapling prevents that hex from generating coins
  • A fully grown tree reduces that hex income by 1 coin per turn

Letting trees spread will slowly weaken your economy.
Clear them early, especially before they fully grow.

Elevation

The map includes hills and higher ground.

Moving on Elevation

  • It costs 2 blocks to move up 1 level of height
  • Moving downhill costs nothing

Climbing requires planning. Descending is free.

Combat Advantage

Standing on higher ground gives increased attack strength against adjacent hexes that are lower.

This makes it easier to:

  • Capture mountains
  • Destroy towers
  • Break strong defensive positions

Use elevation to gain the upper hand.

Defensive Strategy

Building towers on elevated ground increases their defensive power.

Higher towers + higher ground = stronger protection.

Control high ground to control the battlefield.

Territory & Conversion

Territory must remain connected to a king.

If territory becomes disconnected:

  • It is automatically converted
  • The cutting player gains control

Protect vulnerable paths.

Fog of War

Enabled by default.

With Fog of War:

  • You see 2 hexes beyond your territory

Vision increases with height:

  • Taller block stacks
  • Taller towers

Leaderboard

Displayed in the top-right corner.

  • Shows controlled hexes per player
  • Indicates map dominance

More hexes does not always mean stronger economy.
